Well once again I have a problem with one of our machines.
My wife is running XP Pro and we can not get Yahoo Messenger off.
When I try the uninstall button I get "Could not open INSTALL.LOG file.
What can I do to get rid of this problem?
Thanks!

Did you try using add/remove programs in the control panel? If that doesnt work just delete the whole folder.

Try uninstalling it in safe mode. After it's been removed from the program list, go to your Program Files folder and delete it from the Yahoo! folder, as well as in the Common Files folder.

Tried that.
Is there any real good registry repair software.
Should I just reinstall the OS?

go into your program files and manually delete yahoo messenger from your files. make sure its removed from your recycle bin as well. then go back into your uninstall window and click uninstall. it should say something like "program not found would you like to remove from list" or something to that effect.

Reinstalling the OS would solve the problem but could be a hassle unless all your programs and files are backed up. then by all means reinstall till your hearts content!

Got it. Thanks guys. Probably will be back with some other issues to clean up.
