Last Sundays Hike, it was hot.

Cucamonga Peak is located in San Bernardino County - Southern California (USA) in the Cucamonga Wilderness area of the San Gabriel Mountain Range.

The mountain is accessible all year, although the hiking season is typically between May/June – Oct/November. It can be busy during the summer months and of course on weekends, although you do need to be in decent physical shape to hike to the top.

The easiest route is 12 miles round trip with 3900 ft of elevation gain. Most books rate it as a strenuous or difficult hike. It starts at the parking area at the head of Icehouse canyon (5000 ft) and ascends over 3.5 miles to Icehouse saddle (7580 ft), along the Icehouse canyon trail heading east-southeast.

Great pics Bear. The view from the top looks like it is definately worth the effort:thumbup:

I was wondering when the knife porn was coming! Very nice, is that an ML?

Bear, I've hiked that area many times when I lived in Southern California. I even lived in Montclair and Pomona for a short time when I was younger. I've hiked up to Icehouse Saddle in the winter and to the top of Mt Baldy in the fall. I've camped and backpacked in that area a few times too. Nice pics.

Ray thats nice to hear someone familiar with the area I hike in. The saddle in the winter is a nice place but hard to go past once it snows.

I live in west covina not far from pomona.

I have hiked there as well. I grew up in San Bernardino. Great pics man. I miss it somethin fierce. Great pics, and a very nice knife to boot.

Great pics bear. I too have hiked that area, it's been a while though, back when I was in scouts. That knife from Koyote looks great.

Geez, I'm sitting here in Riverside looing up through the smog at those mountains now. Haven't been up there in a while but when I lived in Downey I hiked there a lot. Great pics.

Yep, grew up there. Learned how to swim in the pacific. SOCAL is awesome. So much to see. Went to wrightwood every summer. Me and my dad use to pan gold in the cohon pass.

You were right about those Koyotes. The more I play with the Leuko the more I see similarities between the Breeden Kelly and the Koyote Leuko.

I live in Placentia. We need to get a West Coast gathering planed!!!
We could always hike some week and show the others some pics of the area. :)

I like the look of the Koyote knife....yep, good stuff! What kind of boots did you wear for such rocky terrain?
