Hi, all.
I've been watching wonderful photoes you all kept on posting to this board.
Just watching. How envious I was.

This time I have something to show at last,
climbed Mt. Fuji and skied last week.

as you can see, the slope is moderately steep, just an ideal steepness for skiing.
But the snow was extremely packed this time. It was hard enough that we couldn't
walk on it without crampons.

This is my buddy. There's a shrine on the edge of the crater. It's about 12,330 ft.

This is the peak.

With strong wind and temperature -10C, it was an exceptionally cold hiking :D .
The height is 12,600 ft. It is the highest mountain in Japan.

Without no doubt, Mt. Fuji is a great place to ski.

I took the newly made knife with me but as it was all day of climbing, cold wind and skiing,
I had no chance to take a blade shot :o

Thanks for looking.

Very cool pics! Must have been a decent workout.

Shoot. Spring is just getting into full swing here, and now you have me wishing for snow!

All the best,

- Mike

Wonderful! I climbed Fujiyama in the spring of 1990. Very arduous. I can imagine how challenging it must have been in the dead of winter. Skiing down such a steep and rocky slope must have been quite a thrill.

Thank you for sharing, Yuji. Those are great pics. Fuji-san maybe the ugliest mounain I've ever climbed in the summer, and definitely one of the prettiest I've ever climbed in the winter. It's like night and day.

If you haven't climbed it yet and you ever get the chance you should winter climb Daisen (also known as Oyama) in Tottori-ken. It's the little mountain with a big bite. Definitely one of my all time favorite climbs.

Thanks for your favourable responses.

Hi, tenkara, the slope just below the edge of the crater was very steep and hard ice.

But besides this slope, it's not extremely steep.

Kage-san, it's good for you that you climbed Dai-sen in winter.
I've never climbed Dai-sen in winter, although I've heard quite nice things about that mountain.

Oof...that's bright, that guy has the right Idea. That moutain's worth the extra $ for polarized lenses. Looks like a pretty good time.

Wonderful pictures. That looks an arduous journey up and a fun but quick journey down. I don't think most North Americans have the concept of actually climbing the mountain that you ski down:thumbup:

Wow!!!!!
Sore wa sugoi na!!!!!!!!!
