MT LCC or a SERE 2000 ????

I have bought an MT LCC, then my wife bought me the SERE 2000. Both are awesome knives, but i like the LCC more. It is my daily carry.

Everytime, I actually stare at my LCC first before i use it.

I just acquired an LCC and although I like the Al Mar SERE 2000, I have to say, there is nothing like the LCC. If you don't like the small pocket clip, use the sheath.

The main problem with the pocket clip is that it has cut-outs in it that make it very weak. Contact MT and tell them you want an updated clip. The new ones are solid and are much tougher.

These knives share two things in common, in my opinion. On the positive side they are both perfectly balanced. Either of them opens single handedly with only the slightest effort. On the negative side, they are both heavy. I would consider them pretty close. I guess I'd have to side with the Al Mar, though, since I own one personally and decided against owning an LCC. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either product.

Weak? As in it loses spring force over time? Or as in it breaks? Please advise.

I have both.

MT LCC:
========
A gem. Very precision. Clip is fine. Sharpest factory edge I've seen.

Design is efficient, i.e. blade/handle ratio is good. Tip is not thin, not too delicate. Flat ground for practical purposes, by machine & not a grinder for what that's worth. Lockup excellent. Fit/finish is near custom (better than many customs).

Action on mine is not as smooth (just tight, can't be remedied with pivot screw tension), as I would like, I can remedy through use or by flat grinding a half of a thousandth off bronze pivot washers. Super knife. Recommended. I can't improve on this design....Greg Lightfoot got a BUNCH of things right. (if bead blased titanium bolsters get scuffed, take them off, and brush them with scotchbrite or 600 grit paper for a satin finish, which I prefer anyway, and which you can refinish w/o bead blaster.)

Al Mar Sere 2000:
==================
VERY stout handle, liners too thick, heavier than it needs to be. Efficiency is marginal, handle is too long for blade length.

Lots of sharp edges, e.g. liner, and thumbstud design sucks, too sharp and pointy. I can fix with careful file work.

Good but not great blade grind, tip is substantial enough for folder. Blade stock is thinner than what is implied by fat handle slabs and liner, out of proportion. Wasted space in choil area. Double guard feature makes it dagger-like.

Very good, but not great knife. I could improve on design in a few ways.

Has anybody really proven that the current clips of the LCC are weak? They do look weak because of the cutouts, but are they really weak?

I admit that i like the LCC's clip with the cutouts. They look better for me and inconspicuous when clipped to my pants, since the cutouts show more of the pants than the clip. When i carry my Sere, the large shiny clip just attracts everybody's attention.

I'm selling my LCC. In fact this is a good place to ask, anybody interested in trading their SERE for an LCC? I could use another SERE or two just in case mine should somehow break or get lost. I would never want to be without it.
