I have both.
MT LCC:
========
A gem. Very precision. Clip is fine. Sharpest factory edge I've seen.
Design is efficient, i.e. blade/handle ratio is good. Tip is not thin, not too delicate. Flat ground for practical purposes, by machine & not a grinder for what that's worth. Lockup excellent. Fit/finish is near custom (better than many customs).
Action on mine is not as smooth (just tight, can't be remedied with pivot screw tension), as I would like, I can remedy through use or by flat grinding a half of a thousandth off bronze pivot washers. Super knife. Recommended. I can't improve on this design....Greg Lightfoot got a BUNCH of things right. (if bead blased titanium bolsters get scuffed, take them off, and brush them with scotchbrite or 600 grit paper for a satin finish, which I prefer anyway, and which you can refinish w/o bead blaster.)
Al Mar Sere 2000:
==================
VERY stout handle, liners too thick, heavier than it needs to be. Efficiency is marginal, handle is too long for blade length.
Lots of sharp edges, e.g. liner, and thumbstud design sucks, too sharp and pointy. I can fix with careful file work.
Good but not great blade grind, tip is substantial enough for folder. Blade stock is thinner than what is implied by fat handle slabs and liner, out of proportion. Wasted space in choil area. Double guard feature makes it dagger-like.
Very good, but not great knife. I could improve on design in a few ways.
