MT LCC questions

As far as I am informed only the 1st gen had Ti bolsters, they were also cut some smaller.
At least 2nd or 3rd gens had the Ti bolsters because mine are Ti and they're definitely not 1st gen. The knives should all be the same size though the bolsters are shaped slightly differently in each generation and I think screw alignment may also be slightly different in each. I believe the bolster changes were to address the accidental firing issues in the 1st gen. I recall there being somewhere that described the differences between each generation but I can't recall where I saw it.

Just found this thread which describes the differences in each (no pics, though). And according to someone in that thread, the MA LCC's only had two generations so you may be referring to the MA whereas I was referring to the DA.

Expensive hobby, a LCC costs as much as my first serious bike!

Ha, that's interesting shanghaied, never thought of it that way...I'll "invest" $500. on a knife without thinking twice, but would really fight with myself to spend the same on a bike.

500 is not all that much to spend on a bike at all....:p

Each to his own I guess, knives, electronics, home cinema, bikes, cars, Happymeal toys, drugs.... whatever rings your bell buddy, that's what I say. I just pity the fools who have more than three of these hobbies :)

BTW Megalobyte I'm still interested in the deal, and have sent you a mail already. Just wondering you if you are still game .

wow, i bought a LNIB LCC plain edge w/the CF handles/ti bolsters summer before lat for $150 shipped, my 3rd LCC, gonna keep this one, still have it still LNIB (only been outta the plastic a time or 3, and when i got it was still sealed. my #2 fav MT, my SOCOM elite is #1.

I'm interested in getting a manual LCC, but I can only find it in 154cm, whereas the auto version comes in S30V. Does anyone know if they make a manual LCC in S30V or what the deal is?

Thanks,

Bert

reply to SIFU1A:

Saw some custom emersons at knifeart.com, all in the four-digit range:eek: , there are upscale folders that sell way cheaper!!

Any ideas why the price is as it is?

Bert:

Check out

http://www.tadgear.com/edged tools/lcc_ma_micarta.htm

The LCC's there has S30v blades, but it's only available with micarta and ti bolsters though, if you care about those things.

btw leave one for me :) , I might have to buy it there.

Bert: they do make manual S30V LCCs. I'm not sure who carries them in stock anymore but I have seen them numerous times.

I have an S90V version and like it a lot. I am growing slightly more legally conscious about it (it is a DA), but the S90V is great! The S90V version is apparently fairly rare, so I'm kinda happy I was able to find it--thus hesitant to resell. :)

emerson customs are high dollar because of supply and demand for them, he doesnt make many any more, his list is 5 yrs + behind,

Bert,

I just received a LCC MA in S30V from 2thehilt.com. I think Phil had to make a special effort to get one for me, but he didn't charge any more for it than he does for the 154CM examples--$149 shipped. An excellent deal, methinks. It doesn't hurt to ask the retailers even if the knife you're looking for isn't listed on their site. I couldn't recommend Phil more highly. Great transaction and great deals on LCCs of all configurations.

I just purchased an the 1st Generation Manual Action plain edge TiNi coated LCC. I've been looking for it for a while and now that I finally have it coming too me I cant wait. I've heard so many good things that it will be refreshing to own one myself.
