It shows man. These things take time though man. Im glad to see youre commited to it. What difficulty would you rate the terrain?
 
I am really jealous. I'm back on the road and stuck in my truck, while you're out galavanting.
How's the humidity. I'm in Texas and it's a little hot here.

Mack, the humidity today wasn't bad. When you go from the town levels up to the peak, the temp drops dramatically. It was 20 deg F difference, so getting up high here always beats the heat! :thumbup:

I'd say longhaul. Last trip was 4 months, this one just started. I'm hoping to get home once a month or so but the situation will dictate. Money talks.

Dr. Bill, thanks. Not big enough to be a pigsticker but it'll clean and butcher a hog no problem!

Protour, stay safe out there and keep yer eyes on the road. I'll keep finding new ways to get into trouble and share 'em here! :D
 
If you do go to Graveyard Fields, you may luck into wild blueberries. I haven't been up for a few years but I think they should be coming in around now. It used to have tons of both low and highbush blueberries.

A little further south on the Parkway at about Milepost 420 is a nice parking area just off the road about .5 miles. It actually may where you need to park to hike to Cold Mtn. It has some nice balds around there.

Hope you have a great time! I'm jealous because I have to work today. But then again it is only 10 miles or so from home!

jpr, thanks for the additional intel!

Scott, it's amazing here. Gonna get the PSK, Jr. out there soon as my sole knife and use it exclusively to meet my survival needs. Who says you need a big knife? You just need a Gossman...:thumbup:
