You guys are in trouble now that I have figured out how to post pictures here. I took a trip two weeks ago with some scouts, from Horseshoe Meadow to Mt Whitney. Here are a few pictures from the trip:

It was a very nice trip, even though it rained four out of five days. I have been working with these scouts to get them in shape for the trip. They had heard about a similar trip that I took last year, and they wanted to summit Whitney, too. Whitney is the highest peak in the lower 48, at 14,505' (or 4421M for our metric friends).

Awesome! i never get tired of the view looking down onto Horseshoe Meadows!

Absolutely gorgeous! There is just something about rock and water!

Great trip!! The eastern Sierra is my favorite place. I summitted Mt. Whitney back in 2000 from Whitney Portal. I've backpacked from Horseshoe Meadows a few times going to Cottonwood Lakes and Mulkey Meadows. I'm trying to get back in shape and do Mt. Langley but I'm not sure if I can do it this year. Maybe next year. I just hiked to Marble Falls in Sequoia today. I'll post some pics later.

Everyone of those is a postcard bro, they are awesome. Thanks for sharing !!!

a couple of the pics look like you took them same place i did. Yea i took alot of pics using film camera.
What camera are you using??? Tell us some more about the trip it self. How many miles did you cover in the 5 days?? As soon as i can get from work for a few days im going to the same area.. Want to stop at the rocky basin lakes.

That is some really great terrain, all nice pics too, Gene

Great pictures. I went up there in 1997 via the mountaineers route, it was incredible. I love the Sierras, I'd like to live there some time.
