Where are all the S90V Mule pics?

Thought I would kick it off with my first crack at a Mule.

Thank you Spyderco, Sal and all of the individuals that made this project happen. What a great opportunity to try out some exotic steels, produced by one of the finest companies, and to have a go at making a one of a kind blade.

That is one good looking knife. I really love the mosaic pens. Have to ask what is the handle material?

STICF

Thanks for the compliment, the handle material is some stabilized Buckeye burl, it has some real character.

One of the pleasures of making your own mule is being able to make the handle fit your own hand. It only requires a few files, sandpaper, patience and time.

shunsui - any plans on putting some more permanent handles on your mule, or does the inner tube fufill your needs. BTW, I do like your simple innovation.

I have another mule 3, and currently working on some simple removable scales.

It's temporary. I've got some scrap hardwood in the garage I'm going to practice on and then probably go with a micarta or quality hardwood. The simple innertube grows on you though. I may keep one mule like that eventually. You could do both too, stretching an innertube section over a handle if it turns out badly. ;)

I bought some cheap scales (under $10) from Ebay, used 1/4" copper tubing for pins (I had it laying around) and made my 1st-ever knife scales.

The generic $16.95 sheath from KnivesShip4Free works real well too.

Not a work of art, but a great "User" knife made of great steel from Spyderco!
