Mtech Xtreme???

Pretty funny that Mtech has copied CS, but it'd be even funnier if they copied the Black Talon (a notorious rip-off of Spyderco's Civilian).

Whoa, I never noticed that!

It's not 440C. "Titanium treated" means the blade has been given a coating that in the opinion of the manufacturer makes it resemble the appearance of titanium. (Read the fine print in the ads.) I doubt the handle is G10. If you go to a dealer that will let you handle all his knives you can usually find one that locks up very nicely....

Don't know about the steel and the coating, but I'm pretty sure that M-Tech uses actual G-10.

The Black Talon isn't a knock-off of the Spyderco Civilian. Different blade designs, different lock mechanisms, different opening holes, and completely different handles. The only thing they have in common is that they are both hawkbills. Just because two knives have the same general blade shape doesn't mean one is a knockoff.

True, but it looks like if you overlapped those pictures, you would get a nearly identical knife! Even with the different handle, it looks like you could put one on top of the other and they would fit very, very similarly.

Well, I bought it because I was curious. I'll post a better opinion of it after I use it awhile. But, I also realize it isn't a CS Tri-Lite. However, for the money my expectations aren't that high anyway.

You never know, you just might have gotten a decent knife for a cheap price.
