When I saw on the news this morning I started thinking about the folks in Santa Cruz. Hope all is well and the fires haven't gotten your house.
Let us know how you are surviving.

I spoke to Mike earlier, so far its close but not close enough for evac. We all should throw some prayers his way and for the rest of the folks out there!
Scary stuff.

Mike - hope all is well with you and your family. My families thoughts and prayers go out to you and yours brotha...

sheeeesh.... many thanks for all of the concerns and positive vibes... it's been madness around here lately... today our little town filled with smoke pretty bad... i closed down my house and left for the day... we just got home about 30 min. ago.. i have been carrying around my BOB, a few extra supplies and a gang of water, in my car, allday long... and a few extra knives of course..:o

all is well right now... i've been a little tense allday...the coastal fog/pressure and decrease in high winds, seemed to have calmed the smoke down..the fire started yesterday in a grogeous area called BONNY DOON.. . so far nobody has been hurt... there has been over 700 acres and quite a few homes that have been destroyed so far...we have a number of friends that live in that area, we have no idea how things are for them..

i took these pics yesterday afternoon at around 4 pm.. the fire had already been burning for about an hour... this my across the street neighbors house.. all that seperates our little town(FELTON) from the fire, is that ridgeline... it's only about 5-6 miles away..

on a positive note.... my mail box yielded my new breeden knife...:D:D i did manage to take a few pice before it got dark...

Hey Mike, glad you posted and that things are all right so far. Keep BOB handy though and an eye on the fire. I've been on a lot of discussion forums and I've only seen one mtnfolk mike so I guess you can't be replaced. :)

Good to hear. For some dumb reason I was worried about you.

wow that fire is pretty close ... Mike get out there and use your new knife to chop some of the trees between you and the fire. Stay safe out there..

glad your ok and the mailman gave you a present dude. hope it gets under controll, and you pals are ok too.

Another fire!?
Well, this is the first I've heard of it, but I'm glad to hear you are ok Mike. It looks pretty darn close, hopefully it stays away from your house. Our prayers are out to you, your family, and all those that are out fighting it.

That's scarey how close the trees are to your neighbors house. Here most people cut the trees back to the periphery of their yard except for a shade tree or two.
