I have a Meula Mirage. Pretty good knife for the money. I've beaten it up pretty bad, that's to say, I used it with a hammer to demolish my kitchen before a new one went in. It stood up to the bashing pretty well. It just lost a bit of rubber on the end of the handle from where I hit it with the hammer about a thousand times, and the edge needs a good hit on a stone due to the ceramic tiles being so abbrasive. The knife isn't dead and and still has a lot of life left in it.
I also have an Aitor Oso Blanco, 1988 vintage. VERY good knife, even better than the Muela. It just seems to be finished off a lot better ie: neater grinds, nicer handle etc... and the blade is a little bit thicker, about 4mm.
If you want a good beater for not much money, Muela and Aitor a really good value.
