Mule Pics!!!

Sorry for the poor photo. I wrapped my user Mule in paracord over a layer of white leather and white stingray. The leather is for cushion. It worked out really well. I will probably trim the same a bit more and coat the cord in epoxy like the Kumo was.
The other knife is my most used Spyderco ,the Yang kitchen knife.

Here's another in orange and black! This one is going to muddog49!!

WOW, I love the pattern in that G-10. Where did you get it? how thick is it? did you shape it by hand? did you use adhesive as well as the screws? how about a spine shot?

Yes, Potterma, please give some info on that awesome G-10. The pattern is great, the grooves are great!! How was it done, and where can we get some??

Cheers,
Jon

Here's another one I just finished up!! This one's going to Harold!! Be on the lookout for some interchangeable G10 handles in the next couple of days!

All I can say is WOW! That box elder sure looks great in all of the colors you have posted. Can't wait to see what you come up with in the changeable handles!

Hey Ray, I got home from work tonight and my Wife was in the kitchen Chopping a Cucumber for her lunch salad with my new Mule you just sent me. She had already did the Onions and Toms. She exclaimed with a suspicious eye, "I don't know when or where you got this little green knife, I don't want know. But I want one!!!!" Looks like You will be hearing from me again FOR SURE!!! That little Sucka has the Spousal Seal of Approval!!!! Thanks Ray!!! ~baba~

I have a couple that I have been working on, with more added every day. These all went to some folks on the Spyderco forum. I have an Ebony one in the works that I am excited to finish, cant wait to see how it turns out. Looks like there may be a Mamoth Ivory one in my future as well.

Yeah I've noticed my wife is a little more forgiving on spending the money on knives as well if she likes the look of the knife :-) I'll be ready when you are to do more of them!!

Ray, I received my mule yesterday and have to say it took me a day to post some feedback because I couldn't stop looking at it. It is just awesome. I showed it to the wife and she loved the way it looked, and didn't even ask me how much i spent on it. (That was a first!) You truly do incredible work, and will probably be hearing from me in the future. This is the first knife I have ever had customized and I am hooked.

Thanks again. Dave

Here is the first thing that I have finished since getting out of my wheelchair!! Most of it was completed sitting down which makes it more of a challenge.

I used Paisley Diamondwood to follow the worker theme for the knife. For pins I found that the rods from my Lansky sharpener fit perfectly:D (hint for others looking for pin stock!!;)). This is the first knife I have used pins on and the first sculpted handle I have done as well. It is not symmetrical as it is biased towards a right hand, and finished with a 220 grit paper. I am the end user of it so these things do not bug me. Overall I am happy with how it turned out- I just wish I could stand up and work without so many breaks:mad:

Setting the pins and getting the shape of the handle:

Compared with original (I added more of a thumb rest swell and took away some of the integral guard so it would fit the curves of my 4X36 grinder:

I have not seen any in progress pics so I thought it might be less daunting for others to give it a try if I showed how a rookie like me did it!
I hope you like it- feel free to give any critiques as I can take it!!!:foot:
