Mule Pics!!!

Here's mine. Fit and finish don't hold a candle to what is shown previously, but I'm learning and it has sentimental value.

Got another blue/black G-10 finished! This one is David's! This color and the tiger stripe G-10 turned out to be pretty popular :-)

and now it's off for a kydex sheath. I opened up the holes to 3/16" before sending it to Ray for the scales. I will swap these scales to future runs. Amazing work Ray I am very impressed.

BTW the stains on the blade were there prior to sending it to Ray. I could not resist using it, even without scales.

It saw some kitchen duty and something acidic stained the blade. This will be a camp knife so I not to concerned and it will develop a nice patina over time.

I am amazed at all the fine work you guys are doing on these Mule Teams.

I'm just trying to get a blade right now. Missed one earlier in the for sale forums.

Really impressive. Great work!!!

At first I wasn't going to get handles for this knife, just play around with it and test it against the next mules. But after using it for awhile I started to really love both the design and the steel. So I sent it to Greg at Lone Rider Custom Grips and he did a flawless job of installing some gorgeous scales. Now I really love it :D

Nice job, choubbi. I love micarta, and that has a really unique look. Very nice.

Thanks Jeffbr! that's my first pair of scales, except for the first prototype I made of garbage wood. The kydex sheath is my very first one. holds the knife OK but it's kinda hard to get the knife in it.
Your scales are really cool too, nice design and great realization, even though my favorite of his pairs of scales is still the black/yellow one.

Is the idea of the Mule to make your own scales for it?
well, it's one of the main ideas. more precisely, the idea is to have a blank we can use unmodified, but we can make scales for quite easily. (no need to make holes in the handle, they're already plenty. The sheath is not sold by Spyderco, you can also buy one you like from a sheathmaker, or make your own.
Other main ideas are to be able, as an end-user, to compare different steels with the same knife shape, making the comparison more objective than, for example: comparing INFI and VG-10 with a Battle Mistress (1/4" thick drop point INFI) and a Centofante 4 (5/64" thick wharncliffe VG-10).

Thought I would post pics of the mules that have been sent to me to be worked on!! This will hopefully be an ongoing thread and I hope that others will post their mule pics here as well!! This is the first one that I finished...more will be coming very soon as well as leather sheaths!! This one is going to babakanoosh45!!

Thats trully amazing.
Mine turned out a total embarasment i couldnt find anyone to cut the wood i done it made the worst mess ive ever seen.
But now that its sanded the rugged grip it was given by mistake gives good grip.
Its the perfect slicer and a quailty knife.
Kind of off subject but i got some 52100 balls and they dont patina rust yet thats the only down side of this Mule IMO.I have no idea why as the bearings are constantly touched and my knife developed a patina with just a few finger prints.

I wish i had balls of tool steel:D

Some great mods and handles guys. I had one of mine wrapped but when I got the great OST sheaths I stripped it so I can wear them as a neck knife.

Actually the flat profile makes the Mule very concealable.

Any word on the Mule2?

Thanks again to raythebigfoot and scott's sheaths, hopefully we will being doing business again soon
