Does anybody know when the next run of mules are coming out? I've seem to missed the first run. :(

Only Sal knows about the next run. I've heard "soon" but I think that means the same thing as when Jerry Busse says "two weeks." Keep your eyes on the exchange, they pop up once or twice a month.

Only thing I'm sure of, ;)

It'll be quiker than the RAT RC-6 I've been waiting "Next Month" for more than EIGHT months for (so far)

You might also want to keep an eye on eBay. While the Mules were bringing ridiculously high bids for a while, the last couple sold for much more realistic prices.

It's easy to grin when your ship comes in and good fortune and fame are your lot, but the man worthwhile is the man who can smile with his shorts twsited up in a knot. - Morey Amsterdam

I just seen one buy it now its a second and they want $200.
Id just wait untill they bring out some more and eventually there will be a lot out there which should bring the price down.
Its a good knife but obviously never worth $200 and thats without handles and sheeth.
I paid $160 and regret it as the seconds came out just after that and i could have got 2 as i seemed to catch it at the right time.
Patience will save you cash in this case but i guess its up to the buyer how much they want one.

I guess I should wait then.:( I wonder if they've chosen what type of blade steel they're going to use for this run. Hoping is something super exotic:jerkit:.

The last I heard, they have five steels in various stages of development. Whichever one gets finished first will be the next Mule. I know one of the contenders is CPM M4.

cpm m4.....can't wait. The Mule in 52100 is an excellent cutter that holds it edge well, but I think the M4 might just kick it's butt.

Which only proves that people can ASK exhorbitent prices for things. If someone buys it, then it may be meaningful, otherwise it really only proves nobody was willing to pay that for one.

I was talking about open auctions where the knife actually sold. The last two that I watched closed in the $60 - $70 range. While more than the original price and perhaps still excessive, it's a lot closer to "reasonable" than what they were bringing before and probably close to what "street price" would have been if Spyderco had distributed them through normal channels.

Granted, eBay is always a craps-shoot, no guarantee that two motivated buyers won't push the price of the next one into the stratosphere. But, if I was in the market for one, and one turned up on eBay tomorrow with a low opening bid I'd still rate it as worth keeping on my watch list, deciding what I was willing to pay, and firing off a snipe if it was not already over that. As with most things in life, YMMV.
