Hi Everybody :D

For you multi blade owners. When you use your knife do you favor one blade over another? Or do you use whatever one is closest to your thumbnail?

I find myself turning the knife around to grab my favored blade no matter what knife I am carrying that day.

Odd habbit or normal ????

Thanks

I mostly carry stockman patterns with three blades (clip, sheepsfoot, pen/spey). I tend to use the sheepsfoot for cutting open boxes, string, etc. The main clip is for longer cuts such as slicing up food (applies, steaks, etc). I rarely use the third blade and so it is the spare blade kept razor sharp just in case.

I use different blades for different purposes. I favor the stockman pattern, and I use the long clip blade for most things, with the other two reserved for specific tasks.

Sheepsfoot for rough work, ie thick cardboard, Clip for everyday stuff, I sharpen the spey like the old timers, to a fine, thin, polished edge and save it for "razor" situations, say like having to make a light skin cut getting out a deep splinter.

I too like the Stockman frame the best and in order of blade use would be the Spey gets worn more than the others from wear. The Sheepsfoot is a close second to the Spey because they both get used the most for everyday work. And the Clip blade mostly used for Food, I grill a lot. :)

On a stockman, I use the point of the sheepsfoot if I have to start a cut at the center of somethings as opposed to starting a cut from the edge. Aside from that, I use the clip for most items, reserving the spey for times when I need a really sharp fresh edge.

On a trapper, I mostly use the clip, again reserving the spey for times when I need a fresh sharp edge.

I stumbled on to the right track. For years I have used one blade for work.
Cardboard, rope and plastic straps mostly. But I have always had another blade razor sharp and un used "just in case"

I do not remember why I do it bit it makes me feel good :D:D:D

Thanks guys  Hope you are all enjoyng your weekend.

I'm the same in that I tend to favor one blade. I carry a stockman and end up using the sheepsfoot the most. Second most used is the clip, seldom do I use the spey.

I edc'd a Case Small stockman for several years I'd guess I used the sheepsfoot blade over 90% of the time because it seemed to be the easiest to cut open my sealed medication:confused:

My favorite multiblade is the stockman. I use the clip the most, and keep the sheepsfoot for the nasty jobs. I rarely use the spey.

i am a big fan of the stockman knife pattern. i use the clip blade for most work around i use the sheepsfoot for fine cuts on a flat surface or cutting strait lines and the spey blade for making the bowls on spoons and skinning

Medium Case Stockman for me. Use the Sheepfoot the most, then the Clip blade. Only use the Spey on large bulls that need snipped.
