Asking for a little feed back? I dont know if you guys are turned off by the steel or the g10 scales. Good news though I will be moving on to wood. I have a test knife with dyed maple I am currently working on. So guys let me know different steel?

It is A beautiful well done piece, personally i like handles round with no texture or curves like that on a user knife , it looks cool but my hands will suffer , b i don't have the money right now , c my hands are to big for a 4.25 handle need more like a 5 or 4.75 handle, d i got no money right now, i hope this helps:D

I appreciate the comments about the textured handles. I think I have created best of both. The handles have a texture to afford good grip but are also smooth in all the areas you would want smooth. I find them comfortable with gloves and without.

Hi,
I REALLY like the shape of the first one! (i'm not interested in ness-muks yet) Did you test the hardness of the 1084? You said in another thread that you tempered a different blade to 2x 2hrs @ 400F, which should be around 61-62 HRC in theory. Did you go for the same hardness on this one? I was thinking about going for it and I decided to wait for the results of an exam and decide afterwards if my funds permit it.

My thoughts on the first one:
- I usually aim for slim handles - and I think they are not that slim but... slim enough.
- I'm usually not a fan of green (dislike it in clothing, folders) but I can live with it in some fixed blades.
- I think the multicolor looks a little bit green-bluish - and I think that combo isn't ideal.
- steel: if a knife has a steel with a higher wear resistance it's usually a very good thing for me. Premium steels would be really cool, like... CPM154, s30v or perhaps a carbon steel with some tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium for more wear restistance. But the heat treat on these is probably a lot more difficult and I'm probably a little bit picky based on just prejudices. But that's what I think right now. ;) And if the 1084 is really hard, I'd be happy with that! (wouldn't be used for chopping anyway)
