I got one of those hollow fibreglass telescoping fishing poles. The modern version of the old cane pole. They're used a lot in TX for crappie fishing (calico bass for those of the northern persuasion). Telescopes to 14-1/2' in three 5 ' sections with rubber caps on both ends when telescoped in. The bottom, thickest section is very stiff. I wrapped a handle out of 550 cord and it makes a great hiking staff. The second section a little smaller in diameter but also stiff. The third is really light and springy. The first two larger sections could be used as shelter poles. I used a small pin and hole drilled through the small end of the large section to affix a frog gig. Works well. I also used the butt end of the large section to store some line, hooks, dry flies, BB shot, snare wire and some fire making gear. Im working on using the middle section as possibly a blow gun. Going to make some darts out of small nails and some kind of bush cordage for fletching/air seal and try them. It,ll have to be front loaded like a muzzle loader due to the taper. So -1.Fishing pole 2.hiking staff 3.shelter poles 4.frog/fish gig 5.blow gun? 6.emergency gear and cord storage.--Any other ideas?

Ill try to get my lady to help with some pics. Somewhat technophobic here!

Sounds like it would also work as a snake-o-matic to prod them out of the way. I use a wading staff but when it finds a rattler, it suddenly seems to shrink in length:D. regards, ss.

I got one very much like it in idea. it opens up to what i think about 25' but you can buy them as long as 45'.. Im not sure as i didnt use it for a few years. Its made in Korea and very very good workmanship. The rode is about 3' long when closed and weight less then 2lb closer to 1lb. I used it to catch a 16lb carp. It would flex and flex until it almost folds on it self but never break. For trout its a killer. I would take a pic of it tomorow.. Just pulled it out of the car to look at it again lol. If you have some korean fishing stores in your area they all carry it. Oh in the back of it they have a latch where you can hook band so the fish cant pull in the water, if left on its own.

Well hello my friend, i had an idea years ago, just about like this, but i was going to use a two part blow gun i have in my home, i did buy tht blow gun about 10 years or so back, and i was going to add a small kit bag on to it, i naver got around to it. Good luck with it, your friend at the post, Donald S.

Can you tell us the brand & model? I've been looking around and can't find anything quite like yours (3 sections, 14.5')?
