Some time ago there was a thread suggesting a multi-tool forum dedicated. Just testing wondering what the interest would be on a forum such as this and perhaps the "powers that be" could let us know what the chances are of such a forum. I for one would welcome such a forum.
Any one else interested?

My favorite crusade here! I bumped the thread in Service & Support to see if any new supporters could be rallied.

Thanks Aux, that's where I saw the thread. Great to see so that others are keen on this idea. Any suggestions on how to generate more interest to push for this forum?

Hmmm...a poll might be nice. I just may have to upgrade my membership.

It is all up to Spark in the end however. It's his place.

Since no really new or "neat-o" multi-tools have come out lately, we could speculate on:

1 - If Leatherman will come out with a new tool soon that has better blade steel.

2 - If Victorinox will make a smaller/lighter version of the Swisstool.

3 - If some unknown manufacture will come out with the "gotta have it now, beat down the doors, killer multi-tool"

Dunno. But these are the things I'm waiting to find out.

Aux, I vote for you to upgrade your membership and push for a poll.

Saunterer, here's a response I got from Dan who is a Victorinox collector. I emailed him asking if he has any insider info on a smaller multi-tool I heard they're releasing soon:
"The information I have says release in early 2004 - my guess is shortly after the SHOT Show in Las Vegas, which means about the end of the month."
Looking forward to what Leatherman and the rest will be releasing at this SHOT show.

Thanks ST.

I figured Vic would have to compete with the Juice line of tools eventually, (and hopefully employ a one-handed opening blade).

Can't wait for SHOT show now.

Hey Guys...

Ohhhh ya,, for sure..

Heck it's got everything else,, why not break it down a little more..
I think it's a Great idea and support it 100%...

Yes, I think it is a good idea. I posted my $0.02 over here last year.

A multitool forum would probably have fairly light traffic from week-to-week, since not much changes, but it would consolidate all discussion in one spot. That would help everyone out.

A multi-tool/SAK forum would keep all discussions centrally located. I don't know if it would generate enough traffic for Spark to bother with it though.

SAK & multitool forum, definitely! It may not seem like much because all us multitoolers are such calm, quiet, polite, rational good guys. But if ya do a Search, a lot of good threads will pop up. Besides, if we had a forum where it was all in one place, maybe we could get more manufacturer input and attention.

That might lead to new ideas right there, like the one we were talking about: change the knife to a saw on the Leatherman Pulse. Who needs a knife on a multitool when we all carry folders? :) That would make it the perfect multitool, light, compact, tough, and very complete.
