Multi-tool Recommendation

My recommendation would be a SwissTool Spirit. It is a smaller and a LOT more comfortable to use than the original SwissTool, IMHO. Built like a tank and screams quality from every angle. All blades lock. Nice pliers.

Let me add my congrats.

Don't sweat your selection too much. Leatherman, SOG, etc. will all perform well. Its really a matter of personal preference. The SOG is built like a bank vault and is very smooth opening. I happen to prefer the Wave, just because I'm used to it. I also like having the blade, saw, file, etc on the outside of the tool rather than the inside (which requires you to open her up every time you need the blade). Thats a biggy for me.

Grab something for yourself when the time comes and use it for a while. If it doesn't float your boat, pass it off to a buddy and try something else.

By the way, your superiors will love it if you yell "hey Sparky, get over here!" at them. Give it a try.

right on
