Im from Malaysia and i have this leatherman wave i bought in 2002/03 before the release of wave 2004 model. This particular wave had some issues (rusty spots, misalignment of the metal file, the "handles" were also out of alignment, etc) and i hardly used it and never once exposed to any xtreme condition (salt water, etc) somehow, i didnt send it back to leatherman USA due to Customs clearance and the cost of shipping.
So i tried emailing leatherman USA and 2 weeks ago and i was referred to the leatherman dealer for malaysia and i was asked to send the tool to them instead. So i did last week tuesday.After they got my tool on wednesday and on the same day they replied and told me they will arrange for a replacement (new model). So they couriered it to me on last friday and im waiting to get it tomorrow.
So thats the detail of my warranty claim. LEatherman's warranty is excellent and im getting a newer wave model.
