Multi-tools on the big screen

Cliff Claven from "Cheers" carries his "Trusty swiss-army knife" on a cord attached to his belt. And Gareth from the BBC show "the Office" said that if he had to bring three things to a deserted Isle, his swiss army knife shouldn't count because he is always carrying it anyways.

Just watched Proof of Life with Meg Ryan and Russell Crowe. He cuts the throat of an Equadorian rebel with the serrated sheepsfoot blade of a Leatherman Wave.

Reviving a 16 year old thread to mention that a Leatherman Super Tool box appears in Romeo Must Die (2000) starring Jet Li and the late Aaliyah. Occurs around 22:40 into the film . Saw it on Netflix and its not anywhere near as good as my teenage memories made it out to be...

I know this is an old thread, but since it’s been revived...

On the show Survivorman, Les Stroud used Victorinox SAKs in a few episodes, and a couple times used a Swisstool. He also used a Leatherman Wave.

In the 2006 horror movie Turistas, set in Brazil, one of the protagonists finds an SAK that had been taken from a previous victim and ends up using it as a weapon. The SAK looks like either a Spartan or a Tinker.

In the movie True Romance, Patricia Arquette uses what looks like a Vic Spartan as a weapon against James Gandolfini.

In The X-Files episode ‘Shapes,’ about a werewolf in Montana, Scully uses a screwdriver that looks like it’s on a Vic SAK. It’s seen only very briefly.

In a Ghost Adventures episode called ‘Kay’s Hollow,’ a Leatherman tool (possibly a Wave or a Surge?) is briefly seen being used to open a bag.

Man vs Wild: Bear Grylls used a large, locking Wenger SAK on a couple episodes.

On one of Andrew Zimmern’s shows (was it Bizarre Foods?), a large, locking Victorinox SAK was briefly seen being used, not by him, but by a native of the European country he was in; I forget where. Possibly France or Italy.

On an early episode of Into The Badlands, a Vic Tinker is briefly seen sitting in a box with other things. It was never opened and used in that episode.

On the late-‘90s CBS TV series Martial Law, the main character, played by Hong Kong martial arts star Sammo Hung, used a Vic SAK, probably a Tinker, in a few episodes; once to cut an airbag.

In the movie The Foreigner, Jackie Chan has a thick Vic SAK confiscated from him by one of Pierce Brosnan’s henchmen.

In an episode of That 70s Show, Kelso pulled an SAK out of his pocket (possibly a Wenger?), as a possible solution to opening a beer keg, then puts it away when Hyde asks him if he’s going to whittle it open.

In the 2005 Australian horror movie Wolf Creek, a girl pulls out a Vic SAK, hoping to intimidate the villain away from her, who instead laughs and pulls out his Bowie knife and says (in a parody of Crocodile Dundee), “That’s not a knife; THIS is a knife!”

The movie "Behind Enemy Lines," with Owen Wilson as a U.S. Navy pilot shot down behind lines in Bosnia, uses a very visible SAK to unscrew a panel in the jets wreckage to retrieve a photo chip/disk that has proof of treaty violations. Wilson plays a pilot on the run like real life Air Force Captain Scott O'Grady, who was really shot down over Bosnia and had a dramatic rescue.

The real life pilot, O'Grady, said his SAK saw blade was instrumental in making a blind that hid him while Bosnia's searched for him.

Clint Eastwood's movie "The Eiger Sanction" had him dangling while friend George Kennedy was going to rescue him. He had to cut the rope he was hanging by so Kennedy could haul him in with another rope, so he digs out a SAK and does so. Model was not clear.
