Multiple blades vs. blades and tools

I usually carry a knife of some sort along with a SAK or Multitool. Having screwdrivers and pliers handy is just so incredibly useful. It gets used every day. I feel lost without it.

I typically carry all three: a traditional, a SAK, and a multitool.

How crazy is that?

Right now, I have a Leatherman Surge on my gunbelt, a Vic Explorer plus in my trouser pocket, and a Case slimline trapper in CV in a shirt pocket while on duty.

I use them all regularly in my LE duties. Even when off duty, I carry a smaller multi tool, a traditional, and that Vic Explorer plus. I'd estimate that I use the Vic more than any of them.

Wow. And to think, I have trouble carry a Case peanut and Leatherman Micra in my pocket. I think that's my issue, I really do hate carrying things in my pockets and on my keys, so I'm always looking for the perfect "do everything" small package.
