I've always edc's a Leatherman Supertool 200 in my Maxpedition Jumbo, but on my days off I went to a local department store to find that they were clearing out their Leatherman's. I dabble in sheath making so I figured it's always good to have extra models on hand and that's all I needed to convince myself. With that being the case here's what I got...

Wave
Core
Fuse
Blasre

Also a coworker wanted me to grab he one of the Schrade tough tools they had for her father and to sheath it for her. They were tagged for $20 but scanned for $10 so I got the last 2 they had. Got to my car, opened the boxes and found a Gerber Multiplier 600 series in one and 400 series in the other. Both brand new with the sheaths. All together the 6 tools can to $190 CAN+tax. The Gerbers will find new homes but as for the Leathermans these guys are going nowhere. No I just need to decide which one I want to EDC more.

Sounds like quite a haul. Congrats:)

For my money, the Fuse has been a nearly perfect EDC when I needed full size pliers with none of the extras. It only gets edged out by the Skeletool from time to time because of the pocket clip and one hand opening blade.

I handled a Core, and it wasn't for me. It didn't hold a candle to my ST200, IMHO. When i retired the ST200, I went with a SOG Powerlock. I have been very happy with it:)

I've narrowed it down to the Fuse or Wave. The fuse is a great compliment to the larger one hand folders I carry, but the wave is great for at work when I need to minimize. I think the Core is gonna replace my Supertool 200 in my Jumbo.

I carried the wave as well, and I liked it for the most part. My main problem with it was the the pliers jaws would jam itself between the other tools quite often. I have always been a fan of butterflying my tools open for quick access. However, this jamming issue really hindered that. I ended up giving the Wave to a co-work who loves it.

My only complaint with the fuse is that the zytel liners have NEVER broken in enough to make slinging the tool open a good option. Not really a problem as the tool does not jam on itself like the Wave. Over all, the Fuse has really made a heck of a medium used tool.

Have you tried loosening the screws holding the plier jaws? I loosened a few multitools to make the pliers easier to flick open that way. I've also done it to make accessing the individual blades easier.

On Leatherman tools, I first heat up the screws using a heat gun to melt the thread locking compound. Then I use two Vise Grips to slightly loosen the screws.

I don't know if the heat would damage the plastic in your Fuse. I've only used the heat gun method on multitools which were entirely metal.
