Hello all,

I've been looking for a while for a good multitool that also includes some survival attachments such as firesteel. Does such a thing exist? Have I just missed it?

I had a custom sheath made for my Leatherman Surge. It also holds a bit extender, a ferro rod, a length of fatwood, a AAA flashlight, a bit kit, and some extra blades. It clips onto my belt, so I can pull the sheath to get at the small stuff.

It probably does in the form of some China made gimick knife, just buy good quality seperates bro and keep them in the same kit !!!

Isn't there a Tool Logic folder with an integral firesteel?

I'd prefer to just add one to the knife or tool of my choice. In fact I just got a Swedish Army firesteel for no better reason then that it fits in the loop on my Northstar sheath better than the Scout one that I already had.

Raymond1000 or any one else who has done business with Rainwalker. Does rainwalker make sheaths for any type of knives? what are their methods of payment? and do the kydex sheaths come with belt loops? ive emailed these questions but i thought i might get a quicker answer here

He'll do custom work. If he doesn't own the knife in question you may have to send him yours for a working pattern. He'll do pocket type kydex sheaths, or sheaths with belt loops, as you please. He also does great leather sheaths. My multi tool and accessory sheath is leather with two snaps and a belt clip. He accepts postal money orders, and I think paypall.

On the sosak forums a guy modded his wine opener to be a flint holder, looked pretty cool. If you have a wooden handled knife you could drill into it and jam one in, I plan to do that with my gransfors sfa.

What about epoxying one into the bit holder ? (assuming you don't need the bit holder, of course !). I don't have a bit holder on mine, so it's just a thought.

you'd have to carry something separate to strike it with anyway. just make that the separate item and strike it with a quality tool.

link below shows the tool logic sl-3 fire it comes with the light my fire scout model and whistle built in i picked one up a few years ago it is very lite weight cuts ands holds an edge very well. I could live with out the serrations on the blade but the thing does cut, not a bad knife for a back up or somthing to keep in a kit mine usually rides in the saddle bag on my bike a web search can find one sold without pliers for less money.

While not a multi-tool, many Bark River models, like my Fox River, North Star, and T.U.S.K., come with a leather sheath with a 3/8" firesteel loop. A vendor, 'knivesshipfree.com', has a special pocket EDC that has the smaller knive's sheath and a firesteel or slim flashlight's storage, too.
