Murphy Knives was a knife manufacturing company founded by custom knife maker David "Dave" Zephaniah Murphy. Murphy was best known as the original supplier of knives to the Gerber Legendary Blade Knife Company in 1938.
Murphy Knives also made about one hundred knives a year of a lesser known model called the Clause Combat knife. This knife was unmarked and similar to the Murphy Combat knife with a narrower blade.
The knife you see here is the "Clause version" of the Murphy Combat Jr. By comparison the only difference is the "narrower" blade.
The marked Murphy Combat Jr. sells between $800-$1000 when one comes up. By comparison the "Clause version" very rarely (this is the only one I have ever seen) comes to market.
If there are any WWII collectors out there looking to add a very rare example of a part of "Murphy History"....don't pass this up.
$500>>$$375 Delivered CONUS+2. Foreign sales at agreed upon shipping and responsibility.
The information derived for this knife is well documented by noted military knife historian Frank Trzaska
