Murray Carter neck knife, the Brute model is in new from the maker condition. The blade is hand forged laminated steel: carbon steel core (RC 63-64) sandwiched between stainless steel outside to provide ease of maintenance along with a superior cutting edge. The handle is nicely figured ironwood with red liners, two stainless steel pins and a mosaic pin in the center. The knife has great ergonomics and is Carter sharp (very sharp). The kydex sheath is functional.
IMO, the best neck knife from Murray because of the heft and build. Comments about this model from Murray:
“I designed the Brute Wharncliffe to be a very heavy-duty neck knife, able to do twice the cutting chores as the Original Model. The wide and gently upswept blade is perfect for slicing cuts and ease of sharpening maintenance. The handle is hand-filling for maximum leverage and control in a neck knife.”
“Every hand forged neck knife is heated in a charcoal fire and forged to its final thickness. No metal is removed from the final forged surface except to grind the edge. The blades and then annealed, cold forged, heat treated, edges ground and finished. Distal tapers forged into the blade.”
Blade Length: 3 3/4"
Overall Length: 7 1/2"
Sheath: Kydex neck sheath
Weight: 3.5 oz. Knife alone

Ingram knife. Carried and used, but in excellent condition. Gene told me that it was a custom, one of a kind. Sheath has a belt loop, but the setup is so flat you could easily carry it in your pocket. Notching extends all the way around the top and butt of the handle, to the point underneath the handle beneath the second pin. Typical Ingram quality fit and finish – even has a brass lined thong hole.
Blade: 2 1/8”
Steel: S30V
OAL: 5 1/4:”
Weight: 3.5 oz knife + sheath
