I just thought I’d post this with pictures of my newest acquisition. I’m very pleased!

I purchased this Murray Carter bowie knife from an acquaintance of mine just the other day.

He knew I collected knives and he showed it to me a couple of years ago. At the time I mentioned to him if he ever wanted to part with it to give me a call. He gave me a call and with the price he requested I couldn’t resist.

It came with the display case, a leather sheath and a binder with photos on the process of the making of the knife.

If you look at the business card, Murray Carter is an American Bladesmith Society, “ Journeyman”, at the time it was made.

Cool knife, I’m glad it came my way!!

There is a little bit of oxidation on the blade which I’m not sure how to deal with or if I should deal with. I think I’ll contact Murray Carter regarding that.

Thanks for the comments on the knife!

Storm Crow, from what I've read he became a Master Smith in June 2001. I don't know for sure, but again from what I read, the minimum time frame for a ABS Journeyman is 2 years.

So I'm guessing 1999 to 2001.

The next time I see the original owner I'll get some more information.
