Murray White's collection-wow!

Where the heck was the warning label?

I was gasping for breath.

Allow me to rub it in - Murray lives about a 15 min drive from me, and I get to visit his knife museum pretty much whenever I want, which is often. :p :p

When my wife and I visited Toronto to meet my brand new baby niece, Murray was kind enough to extend an invitation.

For the sake of family harmony, I won't say which of the two (neice vs. collection) left the most lasting impression ...

Murray congrats what a great collection. If you ever want a new best friend or you don't have anyone to put in your will many many years from now I'm your man;) Besides that I finally found out were that Mike Ouimette knife went I was bidding on at EBay :D

All in all a great reminder that I'm only at the beginning of my collecting.

I don't find a unifying theme, is there one?

Very impressive collection! Some really stunning pieces there.
Thanks for sharing the link!

Wow... That sure is a lot of knives. I liked the Bradshaw Med' dirk and the goblin folder best. The Wolfgang Loechner pieces are awesome too. I remember when he snatched that Howard Clark blade andhad the vision of having Zaza mount it. Howard didn't know what to do with it and Murray had just the right vision.

I don't know who Weston is, but the integral is very cool. The Papp fighters are very nice and clean too.

I agree that the collection is very diverse. There were times when I was asking myself: "What is this knife doing in such a collection".

WOW!!! Thanks for the heads up Roger. I had no idea that this thread existed. Thanks for starting it Guy. Oh, no I'm thinking of that Canuck Guy Lombardo. Anyway Anthony, I'm glad you and everyone enjoyed viewing the images.

I also have the knives in my Fototime site and most of them are the re photographed and re edited ones whereas I think some of the the Epson site is older images.

Steve--actually, I have a number of themes. I do display my knives and have some themes including Wolves (wolfe and other wolf related art work) and eagles which includes various handles with eagles on them along with lots of sculpture eagle related.

Then I display a whole bunch of hunters together. In some drawers are lot of Bowies, Fighters etc.

Here is my Fototime site and you can see the knives catergorized there

Anyone interestd can also view our 2005 European Riverboat Cruise (20 albums and 1200 images) -- take your time and enjoy.

I just find so many knives of interest that it is difficult to simply have one style as a theme so as Stephen Foster said, theme is knives.

I forgot to mention that I often display at knife shows and can do displays based on the knives in the sub albums of the knife collection that can be seen on the Fototime site.

Anthony I assume that it is the bottom knife of these two you are referring to

That particular knife is quite early in Wolfe's knifemaking career and is close to perfection and one knife that he says if I ever offer it, he wants first dibs.

The boot above the fighter is an integral peice but looks like a mate to the fighter so when it was put on the table, I grabbed it quickly.

The grindlines are wonderful and the bevels perfection and keep in mind it is done all by hand--hacksaw and file.

I display that knife on a sculpture of wolves running in the snow.

What an amazing collection. The Lyttle hunter with engraved guard really floats my boat. I remember it when Murray posted it a few years ago.

Murray,

You have a great eye for quality, and are an excellent photographer, but the link originally presented, confused me, a lot.

The breakdowns of the specimens in each collection presents a much clearer picture of what you are doing, and that is simply what I was wondering about.
