Every season has its beauty, and when a season changes I'm alway stoked with the beauty nature brings us.
This weekend I notice mushrooms are popping up everywhere.... the little fungy amaze me with their beauty.
Makes me wish I knew someone to teach me more about the edible ones :)
I know some of the dutch names, english names of only a few... sorry about that.

here's some pics, hope you enjoy these too.

I think this is Porcini, Eekhoorntjesbrood in Dutch, delicious, but not confident enough to pick it on my own.

Fly agaric (Vliegenzwam in Dutch), poisonous.

As if we're underwater with a sponge, Sponszwam in Dutch, I think young ones are edible, don't take my word on it please.

Or some coral, Koraalzwam in Dutch, poisonous.

You can see the weather wasn't the best for our campingtrip, the fungi loved it though ;)

Nature is never boring :)

So many great photos! Thanks for sharing! That boletus is awesome! Great that you're playing it safe before eating anything though.

Nice. I'm in the same situation as you, actually probably less knowledgeable with the names, and observe them rather than pick them. What are the flat red-topped ones?

Thanks for sharing your pics, I know very few varieties but enjoy looking at many I can't identify. Rain is in the forecast here over the next several days so hopefully I'll stumble across a few chanterelle.

I'm seeing a lot of Shaggy Manes in the parks while metal detecting lately. Might take some home.

Thanks for the kind words guys.
Good to know I'm not the only nutcase taking pics of fungy, not knowing which is which :D

I didn't take a picture of the gore, but I'd like give a big thanks to mullein...you're a life saver! ;)

Love the Red cinnabars!! Few if any here, but seems there are quite a few in Wiscaahnsin.
Nice Hen as well.

Found this big amanita out in the lit at work today. Wanted to inform my coworker of what not to mess with. Although I probably shouldn't of been messing with it though.

This is my haul from my honey hole last October. Hopefully there will be some good growth. Puffballs, Maitake, and Chicken of the Woods

I always forget how vibrant these are when cut open.

A pretty good-sized maitake. :D

No idea what this bugger is, but I've never seen a mushroom with this large of stipe.

And just for fun, some hella cherry burl. You can just make out the GSO 3.5 resting atop the bottom right one.

Tasted some of the Indigo milky this past weekend, meh. The "unknown" looks like it could be a White Chanterelle; I've seen reports of them this year appearing where they are not supposed to be.
