Mushrooms!

Nice haul there. Those look awesome.
I loves me some sautéed morels in the morn with my eggs.
Yum Yum Yum.
Cheers

My mouth watered!! Nice batch. Still way to cold here, but I'm hoping for a good year.

waitin' here in PA!!!!! I'm no seasoned morel hunter...I'm more experienced with the fall varieties here but I'm dying to find my first morel. Hell, I'll even take one of those lookalikes just for some eye candy.
Anyone in Western PA on here that can help a brother out with some pointers or general areas/conditions of interest that I can focus on for these fellers? (yea right, someone is going to tell me where to find their morels....that's a good one!!). I would certainly reciprocate with some fall areas of interest that consistently produce multiple species of edible and medicinal shrooms.

Its like when I asked on this forum if anyone would sell me a Spyderco carbon fiber ladybug....I knew the answer before I finished typing!!!!! NO!!

Me want some more ""MORELS"" so bad that I dream about them and smell them cooking and I just drool at the thought of eating a few more of these "diamonds" in the rough.! ( I had some<<< but I think my friends got more of them than I did ~~ seems like when the Morels are sprouting my friends know and it is the only time they come see me ~~ but they do say
:: you supply the "Sponges" and we will bring the Steaks.!:: At least they just don't drop in and borrow some Mushrooms and then hit and leave..! Well -- I do have a few that do that actually ( will have to fix that problem.** )
Think I will put a sign up ~~~ will trade Knives for ^^MORELS^^.!!!! I will even pay the freight >>> yours and mine.##
I am gong back to bed and dream as I would rather have a Steak & Morels than some xxx and eating some xxxxx !!! Think I will also head back up to where Tn. & Ky. & Va. meet and check out a few Farms as I need some Water-Cress also. Durn...

I may not get any this year. A gout attack has me down.

Thats a nice mess.

Last year I froze a bunch.

That's cool, we don't get Morels around here...

And these guys probably aren't a good idea to dine on... :barf:

My daughter, the chef, has an interesting recipe for morels. We take the fresh morels and dry them on fishing line. She reconstitutes the dried morels in cognac rather than water. The chicken breasts are browned in oil, finished in the oven, and the meat peeled off the bones. She then makes a sauce with shallots, cream, reconstituted morels, and a few other secret ingredients and serves the chicken and the sauce on top of puff pastry. Why do I have weight problem?

Bon Appetite (or apetite, or ape tits, or whatever...) Droptine!! Awwww man, that's a perrrrrty lookin' mess of shrooms. Keep 'em warm, I can get to the airport in a matter of minutes.....

Tiguy7 - MY GOD does that recipe sound wonderful. Wonder if that'll work with other shrooms that dry/reconstitute well. If you think about it, can you run that past your daughter to see if she has some feedback? I get all kinds of fall stuff and am always looking for new ways to prepare them. Thanks man!!

I also readily share mycelium that I start from tissue samples if anyone is ever interested....no charge...I just like to grow and eat em. Can't get morels going cause I just can't ever find any and if I do, they're to be eaten not sampled!!!!!

I don't see why other mushrooms wouldn't work. Just cook them down in butter to remove some of the water. Then add them and a little cognac to the sauce to enhance the flavor.

C'mon Bobby............you would never miss the small bag on the right!!! Opening bids??? lol
