Mushrooms!

I've never had the chance to try morels and I'm not even sure where I would begin to look around here. I wouldn't mind finding a few just to try, so maybe I'll have to do some research and get out and look.

It has been a fantastic year for morels around here.

I have had several messes and given away several more.

ac700wildcat, I am not sure what you have for trees in ND, but around here we have had luck around sycamore trees in the bottom ground and dead elms in the hills. Good luck finding some. They are delicious.

I just finished the last I had tonight with Omaha 5oz Filet Mignon's & baked Sweet Potato === Mushrooms were soaked in a Crane Lake Wine and fresh minced Garlic and Sea Salt with a dash of Cay. Pep and 2 hrs later took them out and dried them off and splashed them with Crown Royal ( 2 shots ) <<<< I don't like to over-do it.!! Sliced - Floured and fried.** lol
When we got through I though we had died and gone to Heaven ~~~~~ YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.***
Going down again Thursday ( as we had a good rain last night and should have some real fresh Morels ) and hope we can get a Grocery Bag full of them and freeze some before it is to late.!!

I missed morel season but was given some. It was a bunker crop this year, here. Later this summer and fall I might get some oyster mushrooms , which I think are morels equal .

This page needs wild edible thread with mushrooms, nuts , berries, greens... that the members harvest.
