Muskrat Pattern: Love It or Leave It

A little muskrat love...:)

I like the pattern. This well used Robeson is the only one here but certainly wouldn't be opposed to adding more.

This would be the perfect knife for small game. Especially if it was a good couple days out there.

Oddly, I've never seen a muskrat. You would think all of the places I've been in PA I should have seen many of em, but no.

They're not that small either-the rodent- but then nor is the knife ;) Second only to Beaver in the rodent family and FOUR times heavier than the Brown/Norway/Sewer Rat rattus-norvegicus:eek:

It's a sleek looking knife and not that well followed (no bad thing) it's good to see such interest in the pattern. Not for everyman but very useful for some.

I never used to like the “standard” double clip muskrat- always seemed redundant.

These days I’m coming around. I like that I could sharpen one for some abuse and make the other blade a really fine edge.
Talking to two trapper buddies in last month, both to whom I have gifted case mini trappers to,have stated that the tru sharp is easy to sharpen, but that after about ten or so martin they require touching up.i think the 81 coon skinner would allow for a full evening of skinning before needing a touch up.

the 8 coon has convinced me to keep an eye out for the green jigged 81 moose.thought they were big being 4",but they do not feel big at all, close to perfect size.
