I bought a small sebenza a month or so ago. It's been my EDC since I got. I had hoped it would slow me down on buying knives, but it hasn't -- I've purchased a Spyderco Mouse and a MicroTech M-UDT (anopeen, with the krayton insert).

I'm not as impressed with the Microtech as I thought I'd be (I love my mini-socom). I'm thinking if the Microtech doesn't do it for me, what will?

What do you consider a "must have" folder. Either for a collection or EDC. What knife is "it" for you?

I'm thinking a Sebenza auto conversion would be pretty cool (like the Buck 110 conversion), but other than that I'm at a bit of a loss. Nothing else (I can afford) really grabs me.

Perhaps no knife will be good for you...
I think you are just addicted....

All knifenerds should have these 'reference' folders:

BM 710 - first axis.
BM 800 (AFCK) - one of the reference linerlocks.
Spyderco Military or Starmate - another ref linerlock and CPM T440V (S60V) steel.
Spyderco Calypso or Calypso jr - Joe T told the reason.
Kershaw Random Task - Speed Safe and sheeps foot bladestyle in same package.
Spyderco Civilian - It is just something to show off.
MT - To have a MT.
CRK Sebenza - Sebenza is THE reference knife.
Victorinox SAK - everybody should have some.

I'm sure that you love your Sebenza as much as I love mine. How about a folder with the same solid locking system, Titanium scales like the Sebenza but rounded instead of flat for a better feel, lighter, smooth opening, precision fit and finish like the Sebenza, and a worry-free, rust proof blade that cuts forever? The Tom Mayo TNT. The Sebenza is the finest production knife but this is a true custom that will cost just a little more than a decorated Sebbie. A TNT has become my EDC and my decorated, small Sebenza has become my gotta-wear-a-suit-and-tie knife.

Spyderco (at least an Endura)
Case (stockman, or trapper)
Buck 110 (its just part of America)
Bali- (either PC, Valor, BM, one day a MT)
Auto- (Italian, MT)
Reeve Sebenza (I hope I have one when I grow up)

at least one of each.

This is my wish list for the summer:
-Small Sebenza-just the plain
-TNT-anyone of them
-Spyderco Mouse
-Spyderco Matriarch (collection purposes)
And there you have it. Although I'm thinking that the TNT might have to wait 'till fall. I don't know if the cash flow will last!
So many knives....
So little money....
I need another job....

Ah Dirk, a man after my own heart! Got a 4" MADD MAXX on order that I hope to snag at the Blade Show. Gotta have little brother to keep big brother company!

Got one of those 4" EDC's on order too. Ain't life grand?

I haven't quite hammered out exactly what my must have would be, but it begins with a medium stockman or whittler by someone like Dwayne Dushane. Classics never go out of style.
