Mint. Used sparingly around the house a few times a night when my daughter was asleep. Carried only in my hand, never in my pocket. It looks exactly as it came - pristine. It was received in June, 2015. I just have too many flashlights and decided to move this one on before I became tempted to really use it.
One thing to note is that the battery rattles a bit in the tube. It doesn't affect function, but you will notice the movement. This was addressed by Enrique Muyshondt on the Candle Power Forums. The foam pad was reduced to allow for improved twist action. Additionally, tolerances were optimized for the high side to allow for the maximum range of batteries to be used, and this causes the cells to be a bit loose.
You will also notice a slight flickering on occasion, depending on where it is in the turn cycle (from off to low).

Mode spacing is is lightly different from low to medium (almost a full turn) and medium to high (a 1/4 turn). At the time of release, some people inquired about it and Enrique Muyshondt advised that it was designed to be that way. Just so you know.

I have lived on and off here for a combined total of over 7 years. And I've received and sent many items to and from the US during this time with no problems.
