Ordered 2 sets Wednesday 11/1 and arrived Thursday 11/10. I do not find either of the 110's attractive. The 120's on the other hand are both very nice and the same both sides. I see they are now out of stock so I don't get another try. :(

should make good users at the minimum. agree with blackdawg the bottom 110 isnt bad looking. is the other side what kills it for ya? or just the dark spots and such? true though its a relative thing. different for everyone.

Well let's hope they get more in stock. I missed out on the great deal but did buy one of the last ones that were a little bit more off the bay. I received it yesterday and they are both very nice.
Wish I could get a few more sets actually.

I went ahead and ordered 4 110, 120 5 spreader kits and 4 compare series sets. Divided up for gifts.

I wouldn't call the 110 I received unattractive, but it's definitely plainer than the 120. Either way, it's a 110 that's different from the rest that I have. Worst case, you should be able to sell them for half(or nearly half) the price of the sets. I'd be happy with either if I paid $20-$25.

I think you did ok. The plain side is a little plain......but it's not a big deal.
I'd be happy enough with them. Mine were all pretty plain, but they're ok.

Ordered the two 110/120 sets on line for $54.95 (plus tax) with free shipping thru my brother in law's Sams Club membership. One set for the collection and the other because I could not resist the deal. Just wish I had a slightly nicer 110 going into the collection. Also picked up the Travelmate and Compadre sets. They are both going into the Camper.

My sons sets looked decent. Not my favorite combo, but what a deal. For some reason I dislike the brass on the sheath knives, but it does add a nice heft to balance out the big blade.

We bought to use.

One explanation for knives that were not so nice as people wished they were.

On close outs and especially an item that mysteriously becomes available AGAIN after being sold out on close out..........there's a good chance you may be buying knives that were rejected and returned by others.

That's part of the reason you get them at such great prices.

You know they're going to keep selling the returns until somebody accepts them.

Knowing that they're out of stock makes me even happier that I got mine. Those don't look so bad, I'd be happy with either one of them.

I doubt this since the knives were sealed at the Buck factory. Nobody knows what they look like until opening the sealed box.

sorry not happening--read below!!!!!

ABSOLUTELY NOT---all returned knives get destroyed and go into the dumpster....seen it 1st hand!!!!
ok 99.5% get destroyed--the Chinese knives are saved and glued onto a board to use as reference what to look for in warranty....

You might have seen some knives go into a dumpster.

That does not mean all returned knives go into a dumpster.

maybe not all of them but I guarantee there is not thousands of the same kind of knife that you are refering here to that would be needed to cover all the sales of sams club knives and all others on ebay and amazon ---that just does not happen--with these or any other knife--like I say maybe some don't get destroyed--but a very minimal amount---it is watched very close.........
even here on the forum there has been no rejets or returns that would cover the sales---do ya think????

remember too--I am not an employee but on the outside as an observer looking in....I have nothing to gain!!!!

vorpal on another thread, you were praising these now it seems like your bashing Buck? Which is it?

Why would they destroy them? Many returns are just returned due to almost invisible or imaginary defects or even just buyer's remorse.

If they had small defects they'd be sold as blems. If they had large defects not easily fixed Buck would salvage them.......at one time they used to send knives to the natives in the Amazon.

Buck does not waste stuff......that would be sinful.
