Why would they destroy them? Many returns are just returned due to almost invisible or imaginary defects or even just buyer's remorse.

If they had small defects they'd be sold as blems. If they had large defects not easily fixed Buck would salvage them.......at one time they used to send knives to the natives in the Amazon.

Buck does not waste stuff......that would be sinful.
that's the buck way---I don't know why they would destroy them---I only see what I see --ask buck why they destroy them!!!! remember I said I am not an employee....this is why I figure they do it---make sense???????
every large company has waste.....it cost more money to fix a small blem or defect as you call it than it does to justify fixing it----the paperwork involved does not make it worth the time--or to interrupt an assembly line aint gonna happen...cheaper to pay minimum wage employee to destroy them....and keep production flowing smoothly...
the blems come from the lines final inspection--absolutely not returns......

Sorry. Although I'm sure a few knives have to be destroyed, it's just not going to be all returns.

i see vorpals thoughts, but dont think this happened much to at all. least for thr folks here as everyone seemed to have gotten a factory sealed and shipped box. for the prices paid hard to complain really for that samsclub deal. nonissue regardless as buck always makes things right in the end.

On close outs and especially an item that mysteriously becomes available AGAIN after being sold out on close out..........there's a good chance you may be buying knives that were rejected and returned by others.
that would be 1 heck of a lot of returns or rejects to fill sams club order on this set of knives right????

it's just not going to be all returns.
you are probably right there--I am not there to see all---because I do know they tear some apart in the warranty dept for extra parts for warranty repairs....so I should have said most and not all ---right?????

also NONE of the returns are going to be resold as blems or any kind of special....

Buck does not send seconds out like that. Returns do not turn into blem knives. I don't know from where you sit Vorpal that you could possibly know anything about bucks practices. It always blows me away when you start down this path. Here is what happened last time you said Buck sends seconds to Wal-Mart and Jeff Hubbard responded strongly.

"maybe it sometimes happens unofficially when there's a pile of knives with small problems and somebody says, "We don't have time to fix all these........let's just send them to WalMart They'll take anything!!!""

Vorpal,
This is the line that didn't sit right with me. I did over react to that line

The 110s are all in one big stock location and get shipped to whoever needs it.

Sam's club dumping product has nothing to do with Buck. We just lucked out. I've been getting emails from Sam's club on other products they are wholesaling.
