My 1911 is sweet!!

I just picked this up today. Nice and tight, with a great trigger. I changed out the stock grips for some maple burl ones. I'll be taking it out to the range tomorrow.

Sweet 1911 Kamagong! I love Les Baer pistols. I have shot several Baer 1911s that had close to 80,000 rounds and they are still tighter and more accurate than many newly made 1911s.

Throw away that Hoppe gun oil.
Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 10w-30 is the stuff for 1911 or any gun.
It won't evaporate, even after hundreds of rounds of rapid fire.
The stuff is amazing.
The 1911 is very Magazine and lubrication dependant.

I need to dig up my photos... here are a few I found on this account

The above is a New In Box commemorative AR10 from AR15.com. This one was given the number 911 at special request to honor those who lost their lives on September 11, including 40 of my former colleagues who died when the second jet struck our conference room. :(

That represents about 25% of my long-arms. The majority of them are in storage because I don't have room for them. Yeah, I have black rifle disease. :D

Since handguns must be on a pistol permit in my state, these have to remain in my possession and can't be stored elsewhere. I need to cull the herd, too much redundancy.

With the price of ammo these days, I shoot a lot of .22 pistol and rifle... used to shoot a lot of 9mm.

Since they limit us to 10 images per post, here are the other six I could not get into the previous post.

That's not the half of it... literally...

correct, no spouse... no kids... the dog doesn't complain! :D

hey hiram, are those surpressors i see??? wow, i live in california, so i am seeing rifles that i can only dream about....seriously a nice collection you have...

by the way, i like 1911's, but i'm more of a cruchenticker kind of guy...i know, blasphemy....but i don't like safeties on my guns...

i own a couple of p220st's and i just got an acusport bisley in 45lc/45acp...

i love my accusport bisley....shoots the 45acp, and it doesn't throw my brass around!!!

best of both worlds....plus, if i want a thumper, i can switch over to the 45 colt and load it hot with some corbon or buffalo bore ammo...

No not supressors... I wish. Barrel shrouds and extensions to make them legal minimum length. Basically the barrels are too short, so they put an extension on that looks like a supressor that is then welded permanently on to make the barrel at least 16 inches long.

well, they are very nice looking nonetheless...

Although I'm generally a wheel gunner,I have a Kimber Eclipse Pro II in .45ACP & I'm finding myself taking it to the range more often than my S&W 686 in .357MAG.
The Kimber cost me a small fortune IMO(about 3X what I paid for my 686),but it was worth every penny. It is the most accurate pistol I've ever had the pleasure of shooting.

Congrats on your 1911.You have every right to brag about such a fine pistol, that has been serving generations of shooting enthusiasts of the past, present,& most likely into the far future:thumbup:;)
