I have never had this problem so I don't know (probably because I haven't really gotten to use the BK-2 yet). All I know is that mine I got from somebody on Blade Forums, and he stripped it and soaked it in vinegar for aprox. 5 min. Then he sanded it down lightly. It looks GREAT!!! I highly recommend this!
ALSO, recently I've just ordered some Micarta handles for my BK-2. So I'm planning on putting those on with a leather lanyard, it'll look great with that "grayish" patina!!!
