Guys this is my first big forged bowie. I thought ot was finished but with better glasses( I use cheap ones in the shop). I keep finding small things I need to fix. The blade steel is 1080. Guard is wrought iron. ferrol and butt-cap are damascus (random pattern). Nut is wrought iron and handle is anciant walrus Ivory.
Blade is 9.75"
OAL is 15.5"
Comments please, I'm thick skinned and need the input.

Gorgeous work man I dont see anything wrong with it technically but I would like to see the guard and the butt be made of the same material, it kinda throws of the groove or flow of the knife. other than that OUTSTANDING WORK!

Jason

Thanks Jason. I gotta do better pics. There is a spacer of damascus between the guard and handle. It kinda brings it together. Tho in retrospect I wish I had done it all in wrought Iron.

GREAT JOB!! I'm really hoping to get after my first bowie and first block-handle construction later this summer. I'm refusing orders just so I can get some time playing around in the shop. Thank God I only do this part time ;).

Super looking bowie!

Now that is a knife I would be proud to be cut by :) Great Job

A.D.

Too my eyes, the knife loses something as it traverses through the riccasso. The grind along the bottom of the riccasso, where it goes into the flats, seems abrupt, cut off. If this was radiused along the bottom I think the knife would have better flow.
I like the knife overall and think the blade itself is a beauty.

Should not be your last Bowie. Very fine job.

Thank-you guys,
Fred I know what you are saying. With the flow of the knife that sharpe corner seem out of place. Thanks for your input, this is how we learn.

Awesome blade, man... love the profile! That sure is one long clip, too!

Great looking Bowie!

I like the way you improved the guard from your original version you posted elsewhere. Looks great.

A.d. your getting better weed hopper.Good knife design, and flow!;)

Thanks Guys. To answer some of the ?'s.
I do plan as of now to keep this one. It advanced my education greatly.
Shawn, thank-you. I'm shooting for something as nice as your Mamba. You have no Idea how much your work influenced me. I learned so much on this Bowie. I made some mistakes that I now know how to correct. The biggest of which is: Don't rush the knife let it happen in its own time.
