My 1st Big Bowie

I like this knife so much, I copied the picture to use as wallpaper on my computer screen. Very nice work, man!:thumbup:

i am planing on making a knife like that for a project at school and was wondering if i should use spring steel (12"x2"x1/4") and shape and harden it or draw out a square bar which i then harden? all answers welcome.
 
Grind close to shape. Take to 220 grit finish then harden and temper. This one is 1080. My next one will be 1095 or W2.
