That tree cutting deal is a great example of what Busse & kin can do. Try doing that with a conventional sword, see how your blade comes out afterward.

That is a nice looking Boss Jack – congratulations! I have never owned a Busse with red/black G-10, but that sure looks good.

I also like the nearly stainless quality of INFI – it will survive harsh conditions that would leave many carbon steels a rusted mess.

Busse knives are expensive, but I believe it is a case of you get what you pay for. You now have a knife that you can depend on not to let you down.

The BOSS Jack fuller protos were first offered to us here (not on the Busse website) in doublecut and black micarta with the same handle machining pattern as yours in both no choil and choil. At that year's BLADE Show, we saw the coated BJ's with the fuller (same blanks, I'm guessing here) in several coatings & G-10 colors as well as BJ no-fuller protos in satin & different G-10 colored handles. My guess is that Busse had a hand full or 2 of the fuller blanks left, and decided to coat them and not mark them as protos and just blow them out at BLADE. Of the too many BOSS Jacks that I came home with, got just 2 coated ones, there weren't all that many available of each color combo, IIRC. I have one just like yours and another in Sage and Desert camo (AKA Ghost camo) G-10...both with the same patterned handle slabs, both with fullers, same thickness, both scored at that BLADE Show.

Beat that sucker.

Well that didn't last long......
Just a lil too big for me......too Rambo
I want a survival knife not half a sword.
But I got it to flip it to raise the funds to get my Holy Grail.
And I did! INFIDU in Green/Black G10.....now I'm a happy camper.
Well will be come spring!!
