I am a huge fan of ESEE. Their warranty, handle material, heat treating, and black blade coating...it is the toughest coating I have seen yet...make ESEE a top pick. My A1 coating didn't last long...I wish I would have just got the A1 in the non-coated finish. But back to ESEE. I have an RC5 and the handle is a box!!! And I do not like the end of it as well...it does not stop your hand from sliding off the end during heavy chopping. I have medium to large size hands. Most gloves I wear a large and others a medium. But the RC5 handle is pretty big!!! If they could shape the end better and contour the handle more on the RC4,5, and 6 these knives would be my favorites. I could easily see owning their who family of knives if the handles were better. Currently I have a Bravo 1 (had an RC4 at the same time and stuck with the Bravo...because of the handle design). The RC4 isnt a big handle like the RC5 or 6 but it is box and if anything the RC4 handle is small. I also like the handle better on the A1 (after having the RC5 which was going to be my gap knife between the A1 and Bravo 1...I am going to get an S1 and dump the RC5) which I also like the handle better. I considered the RC6 but the A1 handle which is not my favorite was still better IMO. I do however prefer a micarta handle but not a boxy, big one... this was a deal breaker on the RC4, 5, 6. I gave ESEE another chance and the Junglas seems to different, it is currently my favorite of all the big blades I have had and used, the handle is designed better then the RC5 and 6. I love this blade!! I was considering a Busse but at 3x the cost and my limited use the Junglas is more than fine! I was glad to have tried the ESEE again. Congrads to them for a fine job on the Junglas!
