My 2 Year BF Anniversary GAW

Kevin, only one year posting??? Impossible!!!
I certainly have enjoyed the few ;) old knife pics you did share with us.
Not an entry but thanks for another wonderful GAW, I am already enjoying it immensely.:thumbsup:

Put me in for the Girl Scout knife. I have two daughters, 9 and 7. They have both been intrigued by my knife habit. I've been working with them on safe handling and use, but neither of them have their own knives yet. I have one potential set aside (a GEC 35 in hummingbird), but haven't quite got there. I think they would both prefer the utility of a scout knife vs only blades.

I am an Eagle Scout. I haven't pushed the girls to scouting, but they love the outdoors. We live on a few wooded acres with a pond. They'll disappear for hours and come back with tales of frogs, dead trees, and secret hideouts. Sometimes they bring me a branch they think would make a good walking stick. It's great to see them work so well together and grow up with curious minds.

Anyway, thanks for the chance to share, and thanks for the great GAW.

Not an entry, since my only child is 30 years old now, so she's getting a bit old for getting a scout knife from dear old Dad. :) (Actually, she moved to Minneapolis in August and took my Opinel Garden Knife with her!:rolleyes:) Not only that, but you turned your recent victory in the treasure hunt thread into a GAW that I was lucky enough to win, so I'm giving someone else a chance to benefit from your generosity! ;):cool::cool::thumbsup:

But thanks for the generous double scout knife GAW, Kevin, and congrats on two years on The Porch!! :):thumbsup:

Best wishes to all the entrants and their fantastic kids!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

My youngest son only has modern folders but has taken an interest in my "old" examples. He loves to camp and fish so this would serve him well. He is a very generous boy, sharing what he has with others. A recent example was one of his friends wanted to see a certain movie but did not have the funds. He asked if I would take them to the theater and I watched as he bought both of their tickets and then insisted that his buddy also get whatever he wanted from the snack bar. And there went his allowance for the month, with a smile.

He wants to be a game warden or possibly fire fighter so has a strong desire to help others.

Thank you for the opportunity to give him your boy scout knife, and your generosity!

Congrats on the two year anniversary :):thumbsup::thumbsup:
And thanks for the generous GAW! Now that my son is a little bit older, I've been thinking about giving him something more traditional so count me in for the Boy Scout knife.
If I'm being honest, I am really thankful that my son spent some time with his grandmother who was visting over Thanksgiving and actually talked pleasantly on the phone for a while with his other grandmother who wasn't able to visit. On the surface, it probably doesn't seem like much to be thankful for but it did surprise me and it did make me proud.
Good luck everyone!

Not an entry, but great giveaway idea. I have two sons, 13 and 8. They are in pretty good shape, as far as having a source for traditional knives.

Thanks for the giveaway, and good luck to those who are in.
