My 2 Zealots

Hey Guys, The postman just came by and I got my order in from EKI. Zealots number 57 & 58. Not a lot of time for better pictures but some to get a better idea for those thinking about buying one. Postman to workbench then the camera. I'll chime in later after some handle time. Lots of work to deal with so sorry guy's for the lack of better pictures and comments. I'm a size 9/medium glove.

ManOMan! Looks like the cutting edge is 3 and a quarter? Would that be correct? You got you some fine pieces there. Like I said in another thread, I just found out about the Zealot. An Emerson With A Choil. I mean, it cannot get any better than that IMO. Congrats on the new acquisitions.

Finally picked up mine, #34! This is a beast of folder and the hands down best Emerson model I have ever had the joy of handling. The forward finger choil makes this blade's wicked Japanese tanto preform well in finer utilitarian uses that a 4 inch blade might otherwise find tricky. F&F to typical Emerson, complete with pocket shredding G10(sanded now!), and I am loving the notched tang, no more boxy tang nub hanging out of the handle when closed. If I had to fault one thing, it would be that the lock up sticks like crazy when I wave it, sharpie trick will fixed it till it breaks in, but it is annoying.

Man. That is a beautiful design. Some of Ernie's designs are " this blade and this type of handle".....you all know what I mean.

But IMO he knocked it out of the park on that design. My next Emerson purchases will be the Zealot and Commander. Don't know yet which order it will be in though. Thanks Ernie, great job!

I too agree with OM, RevDevil. I have no complaints on mine. OM, yours is like the angel/devil duo!

Thanks, that is a beautiful folder for sure. It's going in the pocket and I might have to retire the 15 for a while. The tanto blade on this one is about perfect, reminds me of the Lum Tanto with a slight amount of belly and a gentle curve at the very tip of the blade.

Yep, that's a great description. It is a very usable blade, and a big knife that behaves like a smaller one. Instant classic for me, I see some bolsters and micarta in at least one of my Zealot's future(s).
