OK. Thank you for the information. Do you use anything in particular to clean and lubricate the micarta? After getting wet, the micarta seems to lighten up and dry out on my Nyala. I have been using FP-10 and it seems to work very well.
The exposed fibers will absorb a small amount of oil from your hands, or whatever you get on the knife. The fibers darken when dirty, and lighten when you clean the handles. I use a toothbrush and dishsoap to wash micarta handles, very hot water and it dries, completely, in minutes. I wouldn't use anything to lubricate the micarta, the exposed threads will polish smooth as you use it and still look great 50 years from now.
I can't think of a more maintenance free knife than one made from S35VN and polished micarta
