Y'all have seen ol #1, well Todd thinks it's time to retire it. It's the first of an ever growing lineage of badassery,so I agree. Well I can't be without an M-18 in the wilds so we created a new one just for me. We churched this one up a bit. Dressed it a little better and added all the improvements that have come since #1 was created. We chose curly maple with brass liners initially, but Todd had the idea of adding copper liners with a paper based liner separating the brass and copper. We also used a different pin set up from the normal mosaics. I think this one really pops compared to my first. Don't worry, #1 isn't going to be incinerated, it's just going into the vault.

Here's the "finished" pix before the final edge.

More pix after I get it out of the shop.

This one is absolutely stunning, guys. Looks like some of Todd's good taste is rubbing off on you, Murph.

Now go out and throw it at a deer or something.

That's sweet. Copper makes a great liner with darker woods

Dudes. sweet. and no more "danger Will Robinson" strap like on the prototype sheath.

You guys make good use of the curly maple, and like JT said, copper liners look classy.

Looks great, my other snarky comment aside.
I REALLY like that sheath too.

WOW!!!

I really need one of these. I am going to have to start saving up big time.

Great work guys.

Thanks for the kind words fellas, what Murphs talking about on the mosiac pins is I wanted to incorporate all of the colors that was going to be in the liners to be in the pins and vis versa. However I couldnt get what I wanted in the pin material, so, I took a 7/32 mosiac pin with the copper pins and a stainless steel outer tube. Then, I took a 1/4 brass rod and turned 7/32 out of it on my lathe and lock-tited the pin inside of the brass. These pictures dont really show the detail, But theres 4 different colors in those pins that match the colors of the liners and when you have it in your hand, the details really pop. It was probably too much work considering what Murph is going to do with it. Lol, but considering he had the ugliest one, and he was a big part of the original inspiration for this knife, I figured it was only fitting for him to have the prettiest one as well.

As far as the wood goes, Murph is really developing a keen eye for quality wood. (that doesnt sound good) Keep in mind that you really dont know how the wood it going to turn out until you have it on the knife and pretty much finished. Also, I get most of my wood from black powder muzzloader gun makers and I get it in large pieces, so it kind of a guessing game. His last two projects, this one, and the modded Zombstro, I let him pick his material out of what I have laying in the shop. Damned if he hasnt picked a couple of the nicer pieces that have left my shop....

Anyway, congradulations on your new M-18 buddy, you deserve it, thanks for all of your help.

...and Todd confirms the suspicion, I knew Murph was queer

#31 looks damn good too! Well done!

Another fine piece of work. That is amazing. Crack open an ice cold Bruce's badass berry twizzler fizzy bomb ale and toast that thing.
