My $32.99 blade upgrade arrived today...Don't you just love that feeling you get when you see a small box in your mailbox???
Here's a pic -

The bolsters appear to be nickel silver, but might just be nickel plated crapsteel...the scales look to me to be imitation-jigged plastic...the brass looks real...the blade steel is unknown, but is most likely 1020 steel...it's just about sharp enough to cut butter...
What's that, you say??? It's not a Buck??? Well, no...no, it's not a Buck - it's what I bought with the money I would have spent on a blade upgrade for one of my Buck 110's, if Buck still offered blade upgrades...since they don't, this was my second choice (Wal-Mart still doesn't have the 3-knife Remington holiday set)...
If this knife looks familiar, it's because I bought one exactly like it at the beginning of the Summer. It's been taped to the seat frame of my Xterra for emergencies, but it keeps getting ripped out and used for lunches, rope tows, tieing down motorcycles, cutting duct tape, etc...so that one will stay in the Xterra with the ball peen hammer, and this one will go on my belt.
