My 3rd Sure Fire Arrived today

My Z2 Combatlight arrived today to join my older 6Z and M2 Centurion.
The M2 is a couple of years old and does not have the shock isolated bezel. At first I was thinking that the M2 was much brighter than the Z2 till I realized that I had the P61 lamp assembly in the M2. When I put the P60 lamp assembly in the M2 the brightness was about the same, but the M2 is a little bit brighter, with a better focused beam. I don't know if it's the batteries or the lamp assembly but the M2 seems to have a slight edge over the new Z2. The Z2 was $59 from Botach. Two years ago the M2 was $89 from Botach. The three year old 6Z was $63. I'm not sure where the 6Z was purchased. I think the M2 is the best alround light, but it is now $110 at Botach.
For the money I think the Z2 is probably the best alround light. I will probably get a G2 in yellow next to use on the boat.

I also have the Inova X-5 and the X-5T. Both lights perform well for their intended purpose and I like them equally to the Sure Fires.
They are just made for different purposes. Idealy you need one of each. I also keep a Brinkman Legend LX in the Jeep Liberty and it is also a good little light. It fits very well in the door bin, standing on its tail. I have some foam under neath the tail cap to help absorbe shock and to keep it from getting knocked on. Between the X-5 and the X-5T I personally like the older X-5 better, and I'm glad that I have it. It is smaller in diameter and the barrell seems to be finished off smoother. I also have the little ARC AAA light and its a cool little light too.

Hope this little review helps some of you to decide which light (get one of each) is right for you. If you can't tell, I like flashlights, and always have. Cheers from Florida!

I love surefires too and I began with an M2 then M3. I love the combat grip. Then I thought I'd have a backup, so I got an E1e. You know when you get addited you just can't stop. The A2 is not bad but a bit expensive for it's output.

You might consider upgrading your M2 by purchasing the shock isolated bezel from Surefire.

Also, for my money, I think the G2Z is the best deal. Pyrex, inherent shock isolation, combat grip, lockout tailcap, lanyard kit, lightweight, and virtually indestructable. :)

I do really like the fact that the G2, G2Z, 6P, 6Z, C2, Z2, and M2 all use the same lamp assemblies. It makes purchasing multiple two cell lights more manageable.
