Just finished my 4th knife, the second Sgian Dubh I've done, and the first knife I freehand filed and draw filed the bevels. It's not great but a lot better than my last one. In hind site I think I should of added a swedge to this one. My next sgian dubh will be a hidden tang. Some day I will try to make a leather sheath.

9/64 thick 1084 (was no 2" wide 1/8 at the time)
Handle is polished black and red g10 and brass hardware
Full tang

Thanks for looking,
Matt

Nice simple Sgian dubh. What are the dimensions?

I can't tell from the photos, but the cuts in the spine seems a bit too deep. It should be shallow dips or grooves, not deep notches. I prefer doing an inch or so of basic file work.

Thanks Hengelo

Thanks Stacy, it is 7 1/4" long x 1 1/16. My first one I did is at 7" x 1" this one I wanted just a little bigger. The grooves are not really deep at all, I filed across the spine at the top of the grooves gave it a little flare, and left the scale in there from the HT to keep it dark. I would put a pic of it but my iPhone camera cant seem to focus very well on it.
