My _____ addiction

Sounds kinda like you think you have enough knives but still want to buy another knife... now and then, for the experience.
Never pay more than $35 for another knife and see how you feel. They're out there... waiting.
That's the less is more rule for cheap thrills.

The Manix 2 in G10 might be favorite. If you have really big hands, there is an XL version.
The Paramilitary family (2 or 3 sizes, not sure if the 1st is discontinued) is another popular choice.

Do you carry expensive knives to work? I might be more inclined to use a solid but less expensive knife. Is a fixed blade knife an option?
I usually rock a variation of Keshawn to work every day. They are great for mostly everything. However, there are many times where I leave my box cutter somewhere and I need something razor sharp to slide through the plastic sheathing of wire and the kershaw just doesn’t cut (haha!) it. I have actually ended up slicing multiple fingers this way. There is a lot of blame on my part for that I suppose but I digress. I guess what I’m trying to say is I’m strongly considering bringing S30V or something in that class to work instead of cr123456789etc. Also looking to check out the spydies! Either way I think I Spyderco should be my next endeavor so I appreciate the recommendation. I suppose g10 is the best route. No need to ruin ti scales

Even bacon has variety. ;) There is "regular", maple, and then Pancetta. Most "normal" humans fry it, but there are perverts (cough, cough, LEGION12) who BAKE it. So, try a few other companies' knives (bacon) which seem to have similarities to your favorites and see if they cause you to want to go back to your norm or look a bit further. Good luck, the search is the fun.

Thanks for the input guys. There really are so many beautiful knives out there. Obviously it all comes down to preference, but diversity is always nice. I would consider myself a knife collector at this point, but I guess I really can’t say that I’m a true knife collector until I get my hands on some real essentials like Chris Reeve, hinderer, shirogorov (if I happen to find $700 lying around), but I do look forward to the journey and debt ;)

Be careful and NEVER go into debt buying knives. Necessities always come before pleasure.

Ah yes and no. I am phrasing things wrong and obviously exaggerating but you are definitely right in many ways. I edc a Kershaw cryo a lot and it serves me wonders. Bought it three years ago for $30. I mean really for almost any cutting job you can use a $5 harbor freight knife and that would be the end of your relationship with knives. But then there’s the other side....the beauty. The “f&f”, the uniqueness, the diversity,.......THE ADDICTION!!!

Here’s a picture of a few current favs from a few different companies

See, you are NOT cheating on your company by trying another (it isn't a marriage ;)), you HAVE stepped out and perhaps you just prefer the one you are dating, ummmm, buying. So stick with what pleases you but "cheat" a bit now and then; you may find one more fun to "date". :D

Hahahaaa you are very right. There’s lots of fish in the sea for sure, but man can dating be expensive!!! All the worth while though when that buttery goodness is flipping through your fingers

This is what's called a "double intender" people. ;)
Oooo you’re bad. But I guess I set myself up for that one. Thanks for the responses guys. Definitely looking forward to continuing to diversify my collection. I’ll keep you updated if anyone’s interested

Here is a mix of a few very diverse knives that I have found are all outstanding in their own unique ways:

Benchmade, crooked river or 531
Hogue, x5
Case, sea horse whittler
Spyderco, dragonfly or rhino
real steel, griffin
Cold steel, talwar xl or black talon 2

Spyderco was the knife company that brought me into the fold, and I've bought and sold them more than any other brand.

I've come to realize I have more knives than I'll ever need, so now I try to branch out a bit and try different brands and styles. I still buy spidies as well tho.

Well I’ve been convinced folks, think the next blade in my pocket will have a hole in it ;)

Para Military 2 is what you need for your next work knife. Try to get one with M4 or 204P. You won’t regret it. The Military is a little too big for striping wire. The Para 3 may be a little small, I’ve never handled one, they are popular though. They’re FFG, extremely sharp out of the box, nice pointy tip, perfect for an electrician.

Don’t buy a knife you wouldn’t use because of the price, the knives you mentioned are meant to be used.

Thanks for the suggestion man, that sounds like exactly what I’m looking for! Now I just have to get used to that hole...
